Mariner Marine Mark Foy race 2010 |
Mariner Marine Mark Foy race 12th Sept 2010 Enjoyed the Winter Series and want more Upto26 racing? The Upto26Club with PCC are holding a Mark Foy race on the 12th September. Everyone welcome and Winter Series entrants have free entry into the race. Notice of Race, Special Sailing Instructions and entry forms can be found on the PCC website (follow the link here for NoR and download entry forms here). For those that don't know what a "Mark Foy" race is ... Named after famous Sydney yachtsman Mark Foy. In a normal race, all boats start together and a handicap is applied to each boat's finish time. In a "Mark Foy" race, the handicap is applied to the start time - the goal is for the boats to start at different times but finish together.
The first boat to finish wins. To subscribe to our mailing list, and be notified of more events like this, click here |

Mariner Marine Insurance Winter Series 2010 wrap-up |
Mariner Marine Insurance Winter Series 2010The Winter Series is a well established event in the Upto26Club calendar, with a mixture of windward leeward racing and harbour courses making for a varied mix of competitive racing. Sadly, it's over for another year, and the final series result shows just how close the racing was. Congratulations to the series winners and spot prize winners - and special thanks to the PCC race committee, the Upto26 Committee, and all of our great sponsors for making this series possible. The links to the final results and all of Jo's great pics are on the quick links above. |

Thinking of doing SSANZ this year? |
Thinking of doing SSANZ SIMRAD this year?If you are, and didn't do the first 2 races of the series, you can still enter the last race, and it sounds like there is plenty of other short handed racing planned for the summer with RNZYS. Website is here and last time of checking, there are 23 entries in the smallboat division. A SSANZ newbie has joted down a few thoughts from last years racing (with a checklist to help with that safety gear) here. T-man has written an interesting response too - link.
